Dr. Alicia Barba
Dr. Alicia Barba is a board-certified dermatologist in Miami, widely recognized as a leader in cosmetic dermatology and advanced skin treatments. She is a sought-after lecturer on acne care, non-invasive procedures, and cosmetic injectables, frequently training physicians on the use of Botox®, Dysport™, and dermal fillers. A trusted voice in both English and Spanish-speaking media, Dr. Barba regularly shares her expertise with the public and serves as an advisor to national and international skin care companies seeking to innovate in dermatology.
In addition to her educational and advisory roles, Dr. Barba is the founder of Barba Dermatology and Barba Skin Clinic, where she offers patients comprehensive dermatologic care. Her Miami practice provides a full spectrum of services, from skin cancer detection and treatment to cutting-edge cosmetic procedures designed to restore confidence and achieve natural results. As a member of several professional societies, she also conducts clinical trials for emerging dermatology treatments, helping bring the latest therapies and technologies to her patients.
Dr. Barba graduated from Harvard Medical School and completed her dermatology residency at the University of Miami. Fluent in Spanish, Italian, and Portuguese, she connects with patients across cultures and backgrounds. A San Diego native from a family deeply rooted in dermatology, she co-founded Barba Skin Clinic and then Barba SkinLab with her husband, Costantino Cicchelli, and enjoys collaborating with her sister Stella, Director of Aesthetics at the clinic. Outside of medicine, she treasures time with her husband and daughter, Alessandra.
Dr. Patricia Rivas Bondavalli
Dr. Maria Patricia Rivas is a board-certified dermatologist. Trusted, innovative, and highly skilled, Dr. Rivas is dedicated to helping patients achieve healthy, beautiful skin in Miami, FL. Fluent in both English and Spanish, she connects easily with her diverse patient base, offering compassionate care that respects each person's unique needs and concerns. She specializes in both general and cosmetic dermatology.
Dr. Rivas earned her medical degree from the Universidad Central de Venezuela, Escuela de Medicina J.M. Vargas. She completed her internal medicine residency at Orlando Regional Medical Center, followed by a dermatology residency at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital.
She offers comprehensive dermatologic care, including total body skin cancer screenings with dermoscopy. Dr. Rivas treats conditions such as acne, psoriasis, rosacea, eczema, hair loss, skin infections, and spider veins. She also performs dermatologic surgery for skin cancer and benign growths. In addition, she provides advanced cosmetic treatments designed to achieve natural, youthful results using the latest technologies. Her services include injectables (Botox, Dysport, Jeuveau, fillers, Sculptra) as well as a range of laser procedures.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Rivas enjoys a busy and fulfilling family life. In her free time, she loves traveling and relaxing with a good book.
Dr. Lilian Sarfati
Dr. Lilian Sarfati is fellowship-trained in Dermatology from the University of Texas and Board Certified in Family Medicine from the University of Miami. Following her fellowship she practiced medical, surgical, and aesthetic dermatology in NYC for five years and then returned home to Miami in 2021 to work alongside world-renowned Board Certified dermatologist, Alicia Barba M.D., at Barba Dermatology and Skinlab by Barba. Dr. Sarfati is committed to providing a high standard of care to all her patients, including adults and children of all skin types.
Her clinical interests and expertise include the prevention, detection, and treatment of skin cancer, acne, skin of color, psoriasis, hair loss, eczema, and other dermatological conditions. She also has an interest in cosmetic dermatologic procedures including non-surgical skin rejuvenation, neuromodulators (botox, dysport, jeaveau), fillers (Restylane, Juvederm), prp, biostimulstors (sculptra), chemical peels, lasers (ipl, fractional, Ulthera, etc.), and microneedling.
Dr Sarfati utilizes her background in family medicine and interest in integrative medicine to provide a comprehensive approach to her patient’s dermatological conditions. The combination of her education, training, attention to detail, and bedside manner create a positive experience for patients when they visit.
Dr. Sarfati speaks fluent Spanish and English. She has a number of varied interests including; improv comedy, travel, spending time with her family, and loves dogs.
Irene Cuesta, PA-C
Irene Cuesta, PA-C, is a board-certified Physician Assistant with over a decade of experience in both medical and aesthetic dermatology. She earned her degree from Nova Southeastern University in 1998, where she also completed a Master’s in Public Health, combining clinical training with a broader understanding of community health and wellness. Since 2007, Irene has cultivated a strong passion for skin health and beauty, developing a reputation for her gentle approach and natural eye for aesthetics. Her dedication to dermatology and cosmetic medicine has resulted in a loyal following of patients who value her expertise and personalized care.
Working closely alongside Dr. Alicia Barba, Irene has embraced a team-based philosophy of dermatologic care, ensuring patients benefit from the combined knowledge and shared vision of both providers. This collaborative style emphasizes natural, safe, and effective treatments that enhance each patient’s confidence and well-being. Fluent in Spanish, Irene is also able to communicate seamlessly with Spanish-speaking patients, making her an invaluable resource for Miami’s diverse community.
Irene is extensively trained and certified in a wide range of dermatologic and aesthetic procedures, including acne treatments, medical-grade skin care, laser hair removal, IPL photofacials, Botox®, dermal fillers, and fractional resurfacing treatments. She is especially known for her expertise with Ulthera skin tightening, attracting patients seeking effective, non-surgical options to restore firmness and rejuvenation. Stella Barba, LE, CME
Stella Barba is the Director of Aesthetic Services and Hair Removal Specialist at the Barba Skin Clinic. With nearly two decades of experience, she has become a highly sought-after facialist and hair removal expert, known for her precision and dedication to patient care. Stella specializes in a wide range of treatments, including chemical peels, microdermabrasion, clinical facials, acne therapies, medical-grade skincare, and permanent hair removal. She performs these procedures daily with the goal of delivering natural, effective, and lasting results.
Her expertise in hair removal, particularly through advanced laser technologies and electrolysis, has set her apart in the field. Stella has personally performed more than 15,000 facial and hair removal treatments at Barba Dermatology and Barba Skin Clinic, earning the trust of countless patients. She is an active member of the Society for Clinical and Medical Hair Removal and the Society of Dermatology Skincare Specialists.
A graduate of San Diego State University, Stella moved to Miami in 2004 and began working closely with her sister, Dr. Alicia Barba. Together, they developed a unique business model that integrates advanced aesthetic services within a busy dermatology practice. Their shared vision has helped establish Barba Skin Clinic as a leader in comprehensive skin health and beauty.
